Effective Administration of Criminal Justice workshop with Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria

Administration of justice is a vital function of every government if the aim of government is the welfare and happiness of the citizens.

To facilitate capacity building in the area of Effective Administration of Criminal Justice, AGA-Africa collaborated with Akwa Ibom State on a highly engaging workshop held on 13th-14th October 2022.

The workshop brought together judicial officers from Akwa Ibom state, local, regional and international subject matter experts from Nigeria, Kenya and the United States.

The workshop was officially opened by Ebelechukwu Enedah, AGA-Africa Country Coordinator for Nigeria. Chief Anthony Idigbe, Senior Partner, PUNUKA Attorneys & Solicitors delivered opening remarks on behalf of AGA-Africa on behalf of Markus Green, AGA-Africa Board Member.

At the opening, there were key note addresses from Honourable Justice Archibong Archibong, Admin Judge, Akwa Ibom Judiciary on behalf of Honourable Justice Ekaette Obot, Chief Judge, Akwa Ibom State, and Julius Ezugwu, Controller of Corrections of Akwa Ibom State.

The highly engaging sessions were moderated by Ebelechukwu Enedah and facilitated by Barr Uwemedimo Nwoko, Legal Consultant, Government of Akwa Ibom State, George Akingbola, Deputy Director, Directorate of Public Prosecutions of Lagos State, Chief Anthony Idigbe, Senior Partner, PUNUKA Attorneys & Solicitors, Roderick Shelton, Judge San Diego Superior Court and Wilfred Nderitu SC, Senior Litigation Counsel and Managing Partner, Nderitu & Partners Advocates.

Honourable Justice Archibong Archibong, Admin Judge, Akwa Ibom State Judiciary gave closing remarks on behalf of Honourable Justice Ekaette Obot, Chief Judge, Akwa Ibom State.

The workshop was brought to a close by Ebelechukwu Enedah, AGA-Africa Country Coordinator for Nigeria who thanked all the participants for attending virtually and in person.
