Gender-based violence undermines the health, dignity, security and autonomy of its victims, yet it remains shrouded in a culture of silence.

AGA-Africa in collaboration with the National Prosecution Authority of Zambia held a 3-day workshop on Gender-Based Violence from 13th to 15th July, 2020.

The workshop was aimed at building the capacity of Prosecutors and Investigators in the management of gender based violence to ensure that the best evidence is brought to court as well as to prevent secondary victimization of victims.

The participants comprised 30 Prosecutors from each of the 10 provinces of Zambia.

The workshop was graced among others by Fulata Lillian Shawa-Siyunyi (SC), Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in the Republic of Zambia, Chali Hambayi, Prosecutor, National Prosecution Authority, Tresford Kasale, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police and Dr. Freda Brazle, AGA-Africa Country Coordinator for Zambia.
