Human Trafficking Symposium-Malawi

The National Inter-Disciplinary Symposium on Trafficking in Persons which took place on 15th December 2017 at Bingu International Conference Center (BICC) in Lilongwe, Malawi, was organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security, in partnership with the Malawi Network Against Trafficking (MNAT) and the Conference of Western Attorneys General (AGA), USA to prepare and build the capacity of stakeholders in Malawi on implementation of the Trafficking in Persons Act and the National Plan of Action against Trafficking in Malawi.

The Symposium provided an opportunity to share experiences, lessons and learn from global best practices in prevention of trafficking in persons, law enforcement, effective programme development, victim support, prevention, victim protection and rehabilitation, financing, monitoring and evaluation of human trafficking programmes.
