The Covid-19 pandemic has forced organizations to adopt new measures for business continuity such as remote working. Governments around the world including the Federal Republic of Nigeria introduced guidelines to manage the pandemic which include “social distancing”.

While businesses, the Court and the public are still adapting to the new normal, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria granted his assent to the Companies and Allied Matters Bill which offers new alternatives for insolvency and restructuring procedures in Nigeria.

As a result, AGA-Africa in conjunction with the National Judicial Institute, Nigeria, organized a 2-day webinar themed ‘The Role of the Judiciary within the New Insolvency Framework created by the Companies & Allied Matters Act 2020’ on 4th –5th of February 2021.

The objective of the webinar was to achieve capacity building from the thought-provoking discussions amongst the judicial officers.

The webinar was officially opened by Ebelechukwu Enedah, AGA-Africa country coordinator for Nigeria.
