The AGA-Africa Programme partnered with Books For Africa and the Thomson Reuters Foundation to donate books valued at over seventy thousand US Dollars (US$70,000) to the National Prosecution Authority, Zambia. The handover ceremony took place on 27th March, 2023 at Protea Hotel, in Lusaka, Zambia.
The ceremony was attended by Gilbert Phiri S.C, Director Public Prosecutions, National Prosecution Authority, Marble Nawa, Chief Administrator, National Prosecutions Authority, Nkhuzimba Mumba, Chief State Advocate, National Prosecution Authority, Bako Chipola, Deputy Chief State Advocate, National Prosecution Authority, Chali Hambayi, Deputy Chief State Advocate, National Prosecution Authority, Cassandra Soko, Deputy Chief State Advocate, National Prosecution Authority, Gracilia Mulenga, Principal State Advocate, National Prosecution Authority and Joseph Chibuye, Assistant Director Administration, National Prosecution Authority, among others.
The AGA-Africa Programme was represented by Dr. Freda Brazle-Mwamba, AGA-Africa Programme Country Coordinator for Zambia and Moses Mwanza, AGA-Africa Programme Workshop Coordinator for Zambia. Gilbert Phiri S.C, Director Public Prosecutions, National Prosecution Authority, Dr. Freda Brazle-Mwamba, AGA-Africa Programme Country Coordinator for Zambia and Mukuma Bwalya from Innovatus Zambia, spoke at the book handover ceremony
In his remarks, Gilbert Phiri S.C noted that the books will assist the National Prosecution Authority in enhancing its prosecutorial capabilities in order to hold perpetrators of crime accountable. On her part, Dr. Freda Brazle-Mwamba urged the National Prosecution Authority to take a keen interest in the books in order to continue enhancing their capabilities and better serve the people of Zambia.
