The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted normal life operations. Before the pandemic, digital transformation for most companies was an uphill task. However, with the changing times, businesses now depend increasingly on the use of cyber facilities to continue operations.

Cybercriminals have on the other hand devised new methods of attacking computer networks and systems, businesses and even global organizations at a time when most cyber defenses efforts have been lowered due to the shift of focus to the health crisis.

With this in mind, AGA-Africa in collaboration with the Judiciary Training Institute (JTI) held a two-day virtual workshop on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence on the 28th to 29th May, 2020. The workshop brought together 14 Court of Appeal judges from across Kenya and was aimed at sharing knowledge and experience on the tools and techniques used in the detection, investigation and prosecution of cybercrimes and the effects of emerging trends of cybercrimes, digital and forensic evidence collection.

The virtual workshop was graced by Hon.  Justice David K. Maraga, Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya, Hon. Mr. Justice William Ouko, President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Kathurima M’Inoti, Director, Judiciary Training Institute (JTI) and Markus Green, AGA Africa Board Member.
